Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. We didn’t have all eight of Santa’s reindeer’s for this year’s Plum Pudding Races but we had four.
In keeping with Curlew tradition, the morning of the Christmas Party saw a mixture of current, alumni and new learn to row members take to the water in fancy dress. Much to the amusement of other water users.
It is good opportunity to do some mix racing and a chance for the alumni to step back into a boat and show the new crop of curlew rowers how it is done. We had representation from curlew crews from the late 80s and 90s, through the 00s and present day. All washed down with mulled wine and mince pies. It was also an opportunity for a spot of fundraising with over £350.00 raised through donations.
Everyone had a great time and there were some great races, which saw the winning crew to your left romp home taking the victory.
Also the winner of the best dress goes to Inga.
A big thank you has to go to Avi, Nick and Anita who made this all possible. Member participation is important as Curlew is run by its members for its members.
