Hourly Sessional Coach
Curlew RC is based in East London, founded in 1866. We are a mainly sweep
focused club, with the main aims of the season squads is to build on previous results
at WEHoRR, HoRR. Getting as many people racing as possible. Our fleet is based
at the London Regatta Centre, rowing on the 2000m multi-lane stretch of water that
is the Royal Albert Dock, with a cycle path along the whole of one side of the dock.
Our clubhouse and gym are on the banks of the Thames in Greenwich.
Job Summary:
The role includes both on-water and gym based coaching, working with a range of
athletes from beginners through to athletes with high performance ambition. You will
be based at the Royal Docks Adventure for on-water sessions, and Crane Street in
Greenwich for Gym based work.
Hour of work:
Saturday: 0730-1200, based at Royal Docks Adventure
Sunday: 0730-1200, based at Royal Docks Adventure
Responsibilities:
Reporting to Head Coach regarding session content and participant attendance
Coaching Curlew Rowers participants at their appropriate level of rowing ability,
creating a fun and safe environment to encourage development
Working independently and in a team with our captains and coaches
Helping manage and maintain Curlew equipment
Potential to attend Regattas and Events dependent on availability
Experience and Qualifications:
Level 2 Rowing Coaching qualification desirable but not essential
Proof of relevant coaching experience
Experience of launch driving preferable
Salary paid per hour, dependant on experience and qualifications.
