Sadly we were not able to do our traditional christmas this year, there were no hand holding, singing around a piano, drunken cab ride homes via the local kebab shop. When we all went into the first lockdown, we thought, maybe the summer party would be ok, NO, new season party, NO, Fours Head of the River Party, No, Halloween, NO, NO, NO and christmas was looking like the same. However, we rallied and hosted a rather success evening with our Club Captain Nicolas King our resident cocktail expert on hand to give all those who attended a cocktail making class. Followed by a rather festive Christmas Quiz and Raffle. All on Zoom…
It was a fantastic evening, and a major thank you has to go to Joe and Daisy who put together a really fun evening of entertainment. It allowed all our members to safely get together, allow squads to mix and chat and Joe and Daisy were on hand to ensure that no one spoke about Politics, Covid or Rowing. . .or they were fined. There were a lot of fines!
Our membership have been fantastic over 2020, and we could not ask for dedicated and supportive members. But again, they dug deep to donate prizes to the club annual raffle. We raised a staggering £600, which considering the situation we are in, is a fastastic amount. Huge thank you for everyone’s kind donations.
Fingers crossed we are back to normal next year!
