Last week saw the graduation from our most recent Learn to Row course, These “newbies” will be joining our development squad. This is the life blood of the club, bringing new members and helping swell the ranks of our Development Squad. For the Club, this year the focus has been retention, keeping the learn to row group interested with the sport and developing a path into senior squad becomes the next challenge and one the club is looking forward to overcome. Curlew RC has a history of getting rowers through learn to row up in senior squads and to Henley. Last year alone Alex Gibbons racing in the Wyfolds IV who got through to Thursday – he only picked up a oar a few years before. For those who are our most recent graduate – i leave this here for you “If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it – Its the hard that makes it great.”
