On Saturday 18th May saw the Curlew Men squad fly up to the midlands to take part in the Notts City Regatta at the National Water Sport Centre, Nottingham. It was great to get out of London and move away from Dorney 1, 2, 3 – and for the boys it was their first race since Kingston HoRR way back in February…we arrived “en masse” entering the IM2 VIII, IM2 Coxless IV and the IM1 Coxed IV. The coach’s brief was simple – final in all three events. The VIII finished 5th in the final, the coxless IV finished 4th in their final and the coxed IV finished in the best position of the day, 3rd in their final. Although it was a long day (4am start for the Turk) it was a good day racing and worth missing Eurovision for…although this maybe disputed by some members of the squad who shall remain nameless…(Jamie)…

Next race…THE MET! Watch this space…
