Curlew Rowing Club has membership categories for men and women of all age groups, from complete beginners to senior. The membership categories available are as follows:
Full membership (rowing); student; gym; cox; circuits.
We normally host our annual start of season meeting in early September where we welcome all new rowers and explain our season aims and plans. There will be a meeting for beginners/novices later on. We do however welcome new members throughout the year, so if you have any questions or are thinking you would like to join, please contact our membership secretary/women’s or men’s captain
If you would like to come and have a look around the club, please go to our Contact page and email the relevant person.
Masters
You can race masters events from 1 January in the calendar year you turn 27.
We do not operate a structured programme for masters and there is no formal coaching, although experienced masters are welcome to join the small groups who self-administer their activities and training. Which goes out in the morning before and after work – We recommend that potential members should initially make contact with the club to discuss options. We will try and help coach where we can, but you will have full use of the club facilities, trailer, truck etc.
Coxes
Curlew has run in the past a formal cox-coaching system. depending on whether there is a need for one we can run one again, however, we do take a more informal approach to cox/coaching and will be happy to talk to any potential coxes out there…we can do 1-1 mentoring system, and an athlete feedback system. It will focus on improving every area of coxing, steering, coaching, boat management, race day management, and racing.
