The big day arrives! |
Tomorrow at 11.30am, Women’s Eights Head of the River Race will kick off. Because of the forecast high winds, the organisers have announced a reduced draw of 105 crews – this means that, although our ladies are crew 115, they will be going off 86th from the start, sometime between 11:45 and 12:00. If you want to show your support and cheer, the best vantage points are Barnes Bridge and Hammersmith Bridge. Expect to see our crew going past at roughly: Barnes Bridge: 11:50-12:05 Hammersmith Bridge: 12:00-12:15 But don’t leave it until the last minute to come down! |

Emily Wilsher, Women’s Captain:
“Saturday will see the women’s crew take to the Thames for the 2019 Women’s Head of the River Race. After a winter of bad weather and injuries we’ve worked hard to gain seconds in the gym and on the water. Watching the women constantly PB has been amazing to watch in the last few months. Thank you for all the dedication you’ve all shown.
This years crew is a mixture of experience, with three of the women coming from the Curlew learn to row courses.
I want to also thank the rest of the women’s squad for being amazing subs, coxes, and training partners this year. Without you we wouldn’t have a squad.
I am proud to announce the 2019 crew:”
